Melrose Trimble

Our dear friend, Classics club member, and a partner in the formation of the Tulsa Lunch Bunch has passed. Melrose Trimble went to be with her Lord last night around 2AM. I'm sure Glyn will appreciate your cards, letters, and words of encouragment.

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, August 9, at 11AM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, East 71st and 129th in Broken Arrow. The Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, August 9, at 2PM at Eastwood Baptist Church, East 11th and 91st E Ave in Tulsa.

In lieu of flowers, Melrose would like memorials to be sent to American Cancer Society or Eastwood Baptist Church Library , 949 So 91st E Ave, Tulsa OK 74112. She was librarian over 30 years.

We will greatly miss Melrose' beautiful smile and outgoing personality.

Obituary of Melrose Scales Trimble as appeared in Tulsa World Aug 9, 2006

Trimble, Melrose Scales, 74 entered her heavenly home on Monday August 7, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born July 28, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Samuel Melrose and Christine (Williams) Scales. Melrose married Robert Glyn Trimble on June 20, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas in 1955. Melrose was a  former School Teacher for Tulsa and Union Public Schools and was also Librarian for Eastwood Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa.

She was also active in genealogy and was a member of  Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Magna Carta Dames, Daughters of 1812, Daughters of .American Colonists, Colonial Dames of Seventeenth Century and the Jamestown Society. Melrose loved to travel in the motor home with her friends in the GMC Motorhome Classic Club and also enjoyed reading and was known for her art of crocheting. She is survived by her adoring husband: Glyn Trimble of  Broken Arrow;  her brother David Wayne Scales of Jacksonville, FL.; niece: Diane Fowler of Port Orange, FL.; nephews Don and Greg Scales of Tulsa.

A graveside service will be held at the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 p.m., in the Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the Eastwood Baptist Church Library Fund or your favorite charity.
